Thai Tourism On The Path Of Revival

Wilmslow, United Kingdom (PressExposure) April 29, 2009 -- In the brisk of global economic slowdown and decrease in tourist number, for revival of Thai tourism, the industry is now banking on several high-profile events to keep it afloat. One of these measures is the visit of the 44 contestants to the Miss Thailand Universe beauty pageant last March 21-25. Mr Reugnam Jaikwang, head of the Eastern South Thai Hotel Association has confirmed it as a catalytic move to boost Thai and Koh Samui Tourism industry. Thai government has recently waived visa fees for three months.

Sawadee Regatta Samui, the biggest fanfare and life style event of Koh Samui is going to be held May 31–June 6. The major attraction of this event will be skiff boat racing by Twelve-Foot Skiff Association of Australia. Yachting will be another focal point of attraction in this event. To make this event a grand success, the organising committee has spent a whooping 2 million Thai Baths in PR.

In a welcome move, for Sawadee Regatta Samui first-class hotels on Koh Samui have reduced room rates by as much as 66 percent. It is a positive measure to combat the global economic slow down and increase the occupancy rate. Now, all most all leading Koh Samui hotels [], villas and resorts have online booking and reservation facility. Some good travel portals have also cropped up to help tourists to find the hotel/villa of their choice and budget. They also take the responsibility to find out a Koh Samui villa []/resort of similar facilities when chosen one by the tourist is full.
