The Buckinghams to Headline Three Nights at Las Vegas' Suncoast Hotel and Casino

Bryan, (PressExposure) February 16, 2009 -- The Buckinghams are set to headline the entertainment in Las Vegas, February 27 and 28, and March 1, in the Showroom of the Suncoast Hotel and Casino. This 60s pop rock band from Chicago were featured on The Ed Sullivan Show, American Bandstand, and The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and were named “The Most Listened to Band in America” in 1967.

Bass player Nick Fortuna notes, “When The Buckinghams played for President Obama’s Inaugural Agricultural Ball in January, everyone danced the entire night. We promise our Las Vegas audience that same high energy show.” Fortuna has been a resident of Las Vegas for over 20 years. In addition to their hits, The Buckinghams will perform solid gold 60s medleys from Three Dog Night, Motown, and Chicago, plus songs from their newest release, “Reaching Back,” available nationally on Fuel Records.

Lead singer Carl Giammarese says, “Chicago produced many great bands in the 1960s whose sounds people remember as the soundtrack of their youth. The Buckinghams always enjoy coming to Las Vegas to take our fans and friends back to their teenage years. Our motto is ‘60 is the new 40’, and we want you to feel that young again at our concerts.” The band is best known for their #1 hit, “Kind of a Drag” and for originating the use of horns in their rock recordings, also made popular by bands including Blood, Sweat and Tears and Chicago.

The band’s first tour in 1967 included over 300 dates. The teenagers from Chicago sold millions of records worldwide, with hits including, “Hey Baby, They’re Playing Our Song,” “Don’t You Care,” “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy,” “Lawdy Miss Clawdy,” “Susan” and “Back in Love Again.” Giammarese said, “The Buckinghams have toured again regularly since the 1980s. We still play 70 to 80 dates a year.” Ticket information can be found at []. For more on The Buckinghams, see
