West Plains, MO (PressExposure) October 06, 2006 -- West Plains, MO (PRWEB) October 5, 2006 -- Matthew Stephens, piano teacher, has just created a website for individuals wanting to learn piano. The website was created to give information and support to individuals who are interested in learning to play the piano by ear in the form of free piano lessons and an online discussion board. The homepage provides beginning lessons in text format. A Discussion Board was created to provide individuals a way to ask questions during piano lessons or just hold discussions regarding playing the piano. Matthew Stephens responds to posts made on the discussion board, but any member can post responses to other's questions. The Discussion Board is free and open to the public. Individuals can also sign up to receive Matthew's free weekly newsletters that contain helpful tips to learn piano by ear in the form of free piano lessons.
Piano By Ear for Beginners, an instructional DVD, is offered for sale on the site that provides students a year of lessons at a fraction of the normal cost. The DVD contains easy to understand piano lessons teaching students to play piano by ear. A unique approach, teaching students about the piano as an instrument, is taken as students view the DVD as Matthew teaches at the piano, making it easy to understand for students. Scales, chords, chord inversions, technique to picking out the melody to favorite tunes, using chords to accompany right hand melody, and predictable chording patters are just a few of the techniques taught on the DVD.
Two additional DVDs will be released in December of 2006 and Summer of 2007. Piano By Ear...Continued DVD builds on what was taught in the beginning DVD while Piano By Ear Advanced DVD teaches advanced techniques to playing piano by ear such as 10th runs, jazz runs, chord over chord, and extensive chord rules and proper usage.
