"Tips for Sunshine: Life After High School" - New Book Now Available and Features an Interactive Appendix

Midland, Michigan (PressExposure) July 23, 2011 -- Quirky new book shares philosophies, insights, cautions and lil' bits 'o wisdom with teens on the verge of adulthood! It was written as a graduation present for the author's nieces (one who is named Sunshine), and serves as a little life manual.

Mixing fun facts (like say "es-presso" rather than "ex-presso") and musings (such as "trust your gut") - "Tips for Sunshine" is infused with a healthy regard for wellness, spirituality and Nature.

The book's chapters include: Food, Health & Beauty, Communication, Life, Love & Travel and now includes an innovative Appendix with interactive pages -- asking readers to do things like "Practice Your Signature Here" or to "Write A Mantra!" It also teaches readers how to figure a tip, select a cheese, light a fire, harness the moon's power and so much more!

Inserted rather sporadically throughout this book are full page reproductions of abstract watercolors made by the author. These images are meant to highlight some of the most important "tips" in the book and are accompanied by a facing page that further explains the idea. Such tips discuss the importance of tenacity, trusting your gut and minding your words.

Also included are pages devoted to "Books for Growing Up," a list of "Famous Feminists," a primer about how to "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle," and great quotes about "Sunshine."

The author of this book, Jodi Patterson has been teaching high school and/or college-age students since 1989. She has witnessed multitudes of students struggle and triumph with the nuances of adulthood. Jodi is an artist and advocate with an MFA in interdisciplinary art, MA in painting and a BS in political science and education. She is a painter who has exhibited her work consistently since 1989 in local, regional and international venues.

"Tips for Sunshine" is sure to teach everybody a little bit 'o something. One reader exclaimed: "This is the stuff you don't learn in school - but need in life after school."
