Hillsborough, NJ (PressExposure) July 05, 2011 -- Top Knobs, known for their exceptional kitchen cabinet hardware, is the Winner in the 2010 KBCULTURE Awards for Cabinet Hardware. KBCULTURE is a selective review of the products, places and perspectives central to kitchen and bath design. International in scope, it is produced by Leslie Clagett, well-known industry editor and author of The New City Home, among other books.
"This considered design underscores that simplicity can have aesthetic nuance," says Leslie Clagett, founder and judge of the KBCULTURE Awards. Judging along with Leslie Clagett was Merv Kaufman, industry journalist and design expert.
The Top Knobs Sanctuary Collection is inspired by Asian architectural details and delivers a simplified, sophisticated look. It is available in eight finishes including Brushed Satin Nickel, Flat Black, German Bronze, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Pewter Antique, Polished Chrome, Polished Nickel and Tuscan Bronze.
"What inspired our Sanctuary Collection is the simplicity of form and sophistication of style," states David Tyler, VP of Marketing for Top Knobs. "And what is modern or contemporary today - encompasses a wide array of styles and influences. In some of the pieces, you see distinct Asian details. In a few of the handles and pulls - you feel the artisans pushing the envelopes of technology to achieve a fine line or handle that is at once delicate, yet stalwart," explains Tyler. "There's a resurgence in contemporary kitchen design. As our lives become increasing complex, there's a desire to simplify and to control one's home environment - to de-clutter. We want to display our good taste - but in a way that's non-ornamental. That's simplified. And more sophisticated."
