New Delhi, India (PressExposure) August 12, 2009 -- Life, we are told, can turn on a dime. Mrs. Mita discovered how true this is when she met with a train accident in 2008 and she ended up in a comatose state. This accident caused a sudden trauma resulting in damage to the brain. The bleed in her brain was so massive that she was rushed in for an emergency cranioplasty. This was a clear case of Traumatic Brain injury (TBI)
Our neurosurgeon said "About half of all TBI patients require surgical intervention to remove or repair ruptured blood vessels or brain tissues. Generally speaking , the degree of disability arising from a TBI depends upon the location and severity of the injury, the age and general health of the individual.TBIs frequently result in problems with cognition; one's sense of sight, hearing touch, taste and smell, communication and conduct and mental health."
Eight months of the struggle went by. Trying all available therapies "from the outside in" wiped the family out financially and emotionally and it didn't seem to inspire any real motivation in Mita. Then while browsing the internet one day her husband found a ray of hope in Stem Cell Therapy. In March 2009 Mrs. Mita was given the first shot of stem cells and another after 10 days.
Mita's family was optimistic about the future. They hoped and prayed that stem cell therapy will be a catalyst for healing and improving the functional movement of Mita.
Within 2 months post therapy, Mita started showing some improvements in terms of her leg movements. Later she was able to turn her head from right to left and also showed some strong reaction when she fell down in contrast to her vegetative state. "She is now also trying to talk which makes me feel wonderful and I am really proud of her. Post stem cell progress was Mita's first real progress" says optimistic husband.
So why wait for complicated surgeries when this type of stem cells is available which is safe and very effective in reversing these types of brain injuries than anything else available!!!
Such type of Stem cells Solutions are being searched from all over the world and will be presented on a single stage of Stem Cell Global Symposium-2009, that is gonna held on 7th Nov. 2009 in MRIU Campus by SCGF.
