US 'Forging Ahead' In Reducing Travel Carbon Emissions

London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) February 15, 2009 -- When it comes to reducing carbon emissions and reducing its carbon footprint, the US is ahead in looking for travel options, it has been claimed. The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has suggested that a greater use of car pooling could be part of the reason for the US being ahead in its quest to find travel options with lower carbon emissions. This is thought to be a more popular option for people in the US as there is not a rail public transport system like that found in the UK. Caroline Allen, regional director for Northern and East Central Europe and Russia at the ACTE, the US `bucks the trend a little bit`. According to the Fourth Annual ACTE #150; KDS Survey entitled The Business Travel Industry Under Siege: Crisis Power, 61 per cent of companies now have a corporate social responsibility charter to examine the impact of their operations upon the environment.
