San Francisco, CA (PressExposure) February 02, 2009 -- During a phone call on Jan. 26, 2009, President Obama expressed to his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, that he believes it is possible for Brazil and the United States to develop a partnership in biofuels, which would benefit both countries. Long before President Obamaâs call to his Brazilian counterpart, REEM09, was organized based on this very platform: that the United States can benefit from the renewable energy technologies in some emerging markets and vice versa.

During the call, Obama said that the United States has much to gain by cooperating with Brazil on biofuels, according to Lula spokesman Marcelo Baumbach. Renewable energy technologies, including biofuels, have been made a key goal for President Obama.
REEM09 will focus on successes, challenges and solutions for implementing and sustaining renewable energy infrastructures in emerging market countries. The three day event is an exclusive opportunity for public and private renewable energy technology providers, key decision makers, lawyers and investors to collaborate, network, and form partnerships to increase their role in sustaining the environment and economies worldwide.
