Phrao, Thailand (PressExposure) October 30, 2015 -- #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
Warm Heart will place donation boxes around the Chiang Mai area on November 1, 2015 through #GivingTuesday, December 1, 2015. The "Be the Change" was inspired by the idea that the act of giving provides a rewarding feeling, and everyone should be given the opportunity to give, no matter the size of the gift.
Campaign manager Carol Culver De Leo stated, "We are hopeful that the community of Chiang Mai will rally behind our efforts. We encourage everyone to get involved, either through watching for our boxes and donating what you can, or joining us with your own efforts to collect donations through December 1, 2015.
Warm Heart is also looking for Team Captains from around the world to solicit group donations for us at work, school, at Church, among friends, or any clubs they may belong to. We provide a downloadable flyer on our website that can be shared to introduce our program to potential "team mates"
We ask our Team Captains to give a fun name to their team that reflects the group, make the donation on our site, then take an "unselfie" (as opposed to a "selfie") and send it in to us. We encourage groups to include a link for their group photo as well.
Our hope is that by the end of the campaign our "Wall of Appreciation" will be filled with photos from groups around the world.
What better way to show the kids that people do indeed care!
