Boca Raton, FL (PressExposure) March 11, 2011 -- Experiencing an independent and carefree life in America is a dream that many students from all over the world cherish. This dream comes true when they find an opportunity to travel to and work in the US. Many students have been fulfilling this dream over a number of years with the help of the "Work & Travel USA" program.
Mike Lombardi, Director of US-Opportunities, says, "Work & Travel USA is a program that helps U.S. companies to meet their seasonal staffing needs, while enabling international students to experience the U.S. first-hand as both employees and tourists. Year after year overseas students continue to take advantage of this unique program that provides them with in-depth exposure to life in the U.S. and the opportunity to work and travel."
University students with English proficiency can participate in the Work & Travel USA program from all over the world. These students with J1 Visa Seasonal are eligible to accept employment in America for up to 4 months, a period that generally coincides with the summer vacation tenure in their resident country.
According to Mike Lombardi, the students are entitled to a 30-day travel period once the 4-month visa expires. This travel period, granted by the US government, allows the visiting students to explore America before they return to their own countries. They enjoy the travel period fully even though they are no longer eligible to work as the visa expires at the start of this period.
The Work & Travel USA program allows an employer to meet seasonal requirements and to fill a labor shortage. The opportunity of diversifying the workplace and getting rewarded by inter-cultural exchange are added bonuses. Lombardi says, "Whatever the position, these students offer a new perspective, language skills and an eagerness to work, learn, and adapt to their new surroundings."
