Del Mar, CA (PressExposure) November 10, 2009 -- While women all over the world are concerned about anti-aging, there are women serving our country in Afghanistan and Iraq who have other priorities. Itâs hard to imagine that buying a moisturizer could be a matter of life or death, but it is if you are serving in hostile territory.
Servicewomen in Afghanistan and Iraq struggle to preserve their feminity amidst a male-dominated culture and skin-scorching Iraqi heat, where visiting a local store for health or beauty items might literally kill you. Patronizing such stores can endanger both local residents as well as soldiers, so shopping is either discouraged or restricted.
Of course, the US military makes some products available, but theyâre usually of sub-standard qualityânot comparable to what is found in western stores. Thatâs why ZO Skin Health is happy to contribute 1000 Oraser Daily Hand Renewal Cremes to Operation Courage.
The idea was inspired by an American servicewoman who wrote to Glamour magazine, â[My friends and I] have been wearing this potato sack of a uniform for 15 months⦠I do not remember how to put on makeup or do my hair! Can you find it in your hearts to help?â
Operation Courage is a not-for-profit project that sends care packages of much needed beauty supplies to women at the forefront. We thank Operation Courage for including ZO Skin Health, and more importantly, for their continued efforts.
