We will start with Steaks. It is a very common dish and is loved by almost everyone. Steak is a very good-looking dish if served properly. The colorful veggies on one side and creamy white mashed potato on the other side make it look even more gorgeous. It doesn’t matter if you are a pro artist or a novice, these steps will help you with the drawing techniques. Then you can add your aesthetic sense to the drawing and add colors of your choice to make it more presentable to the viewers.
So, let’s get started with the steps of How to Draw Food
#1 Step: Outlines and Reference lines
The first and foremost thing is to outline the particular dish in the center of the drawing book or paper. Leaving sufficient space around the outline is a must because you have to draw the plate and the side dishes as well. Then you have to draw some reference lines across the paper both vertically and horizontally.
#2 Step: Draw the Plate
When you’ve finished outlining the steak, it’s time to draw a circle surrounding the steak. This is the outline of the serving plate. Make sure that the entire plate should not visible as it is covered partially by the steak itself. This pattern of the drawing will give your picture a realistic look.
#3 Step: Outline the Plate
Now you’ve made another circular shape outside the plate outline. This outline should be visible from every angle because this is the outer outline of the serving plate.
#4 Step: Create a Dimension and Realistic look
In the first step, we drew the outline of the steak and in this step, we will draw another outline within that to create a dimension of the steak.
#5 Step: Draw the Beans and Pea Seeds
Now it’s time to draw the beans and peas on the plate. Draw some small circular shapes around the outline of the steak. You can draw quite a few beans and peas, it’s your call.
#6 Step: Time for some Leafy Vegetables
You’ve drawn the beans and peas in the previous step. Now you draw some leafy vegetables around the steak, just like the previous one.
#7 Step: Draw the rest of the Veggies
Now it’s time to draw the other veggies around the steak. You can draw some slices of bell paper, baby corn, mushrooms, etc. Later, you put different colors to it to make it look even more beautiful and catchy.
#8 Step: Detailing the Picture
We will start drawing the details of the entire picture in this step. Just draw two parallel lines on the steak but the edges should not touch the outlines of the steak. This gives the picture a dimensional view and makes it more realistic.
#9 Step: Final step of How to draw food
When you’re done with the two parallel lines on the steak, draw four more lines diagonally crossing the previous lines. This makes it look like a perfectly grilled steak.

So, we are drawn to the steak. We have made the details and the grill marks. We drew the steak, the vegetables, the details, and everything. So let’s not waste time and hit the picture with beautiful colors and make it look gorgeous.
In my belief, filling in the picture with colors is the most exciting part of this entire process of artwork. To be more precise, this is the step where you can show off your artistry and I like that.
Now, put a burnt brown and a pinkish-red color on the body of the steak. Because that’s what it originally looks like. You can either take help from the illustrations on the internet. Or just do it as you like it. Put red, many shades of green, orange, white and other colors on the vegetables. It’s totally up to you to customize the physical attributes of the picture and fill it in with colors of your choice. And your steak comes to life at this stage.
